As the Bollywood cult classic film ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary of its release on December 14, the film’s director Karan Johar shared a heartfelt message on social media on Tuesday, more than a week before the celebration.
Karan took to his Instagram account and shared a clip from the film’s popular song ‘Bole Chudiyan,’ which features all six of the film’s actors, including Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaya Bachchan, and Amitabh Bachchan, among others.
“It’s going to be 20 years and I’m still feeling the euphoria of seeing this film released on the big screen and having people come to see it,” he wrote alongside it. However, the reality of the situation only dawned on me much later. And that sensation has remained with me ever since. The videos, the events in which this film’s music is featured, all of the dialogues that people have adopted into their daily lives, and, of course, the fashion are all there for me to see!!!”
“Ultimately, I’ve come to realize that – even after all this time – it all comes down to loving your…family! Join us in celebrating #20YearsOfK3G with us throughout the entire week, and stay tuned because we have a lot in store for you!” he continued to say.
Apart from Farah Khan, Manish Malhotra, Zoya Akhtar, and others, Farah Khan and Manish Malhotra expressed their appreciation for the post in the comments section, which received more than 4 lakh likes.
As for his current projects, Karan is currently directing ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani,’ which stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Alia Bhatt, and Ranveer Singh, among others. Aside from that, he also has a character named ‘Takht’ in his possession.
Separate from his directing endeavors, the filmmaker has a number of production projects in the works, including the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Batt starrer ‘Brahmastra,’ which will be released in 2019.
In addition, Karan is preparing to introduce South sensation Vijay Deverakonda to Bollywood with the film ‘Liger,’ which will also star Ananya Panday as the leading lady.
