In the wake of the death of his baby son Zen, Nick Cannon is in mourning.
This year, Cannon and model Alyssa Scott became parents to a child who was born earlier this year.
“Today is a special day, y’all, for a variety of reasons, but it is not going to be a simple one. I haven’t even told anyone about it, not even the rest of the cast and crew. I had a particularly difficult weekend “Cannon got things started.
“He had this really interesting breathing pattern, and by the time he was two months old, I noticed…he had this really nice sized head, which I nicknamed a Cannon head. We didn’t pay attention to it because he had a typical Cannon head on him. But I wanted to take him to the doctor to have his breathing and sinus issues checked out as soon as possible. We anticipated that it would be a routine procedure “he explained.
Zen’s doctors discovered fluid accumulating in his brain, as well as a malignant tumor, which necessitated brain surgery. Following that, he underwent surgery and was fitted with a shunt to drain the fluid from his brain.
“We remained faithful and hopeful during that period. We carried on, he was still just playing with his brothers and sisters, and I soaked up every second of his existence with joy. Zen’s mother, Alyssa, was one of the most powerful women I’d ever seen in my life. I’ve never gotten into a fight or gotten angry. Her emotions were always there when she needed them to be, but she was and continues to be the best mother imaginable “Cannon shared his thoughts.
Zen’s health then took a turn for the worse around Thanksgiving, according to Cannon, as the “tumor began to grow at an alarmingly rapid rate.”
Over the weekend in California, the comedian claimed that he and Scott spent “quality time” with Zen, and that he took him to the beach with Scott on Sunday before returning to New York for his show.
Cannon broke down in tears as he revealed that this weekend was the last time he would see his son.
“I wasn’t sure how I was going to deal with today, but I just really wanted to grieve with my family and the people who care about me and you. My goal was to avoid any pageantry, so I went back and forth on what I should do, but I was always taught that if you go through it, you grow through it, and if you keep pushing, eventually you will succeed “Cannon explained to his audience.
“I’m here to demonstrate that I am capable of battling through this; I am feeling it, I am vulnerable, and I am open. This is a special show dedicated to my beautiful son Zen, who passed away recently “He went on to say more.
Zen was born nine days after Cannon and Abby De La Rosa welcomed twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir into the world on June 14, according to Scott.
Additionally, Cannon and his wife, Brittany Bell, welcomed their daughter Powerful Queen in December of last year. The couple also has a 4-year-old son, Golden. As a result of his divorce from Mariah Carey, Cannon is the father of 10-year-old twins (son Moroccan and daughter Monroe).
