Namobuddha has vouched for inclusion on the World Heritage List.

The historical Namobuddha is being considered for inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List, according to a recent initiative. Namobuddha is a historical, touristic, and religious site, and as such, efforts have been made by the various stakeholders to have it included on the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list.

The city had previously the representatives of the people to include Namobuddha on the list of World Heritage Sites. According to Mayor Tipi Sharma Timalsina, “An initiative has been launched to list Namobuddha as a World Heritage Site, and the process is currently in progress.” In accordance with Sharma, the city has been included in the plan due to the fact that all criteria for listing the property have been met.

The city intends to pay a formal visit to the UNESCO representative in Nepal. Bagmati MP Chandra Lama stated that initiatives have been taken at the state level in order to include the district on the list. “ has begun on the enlistment, and we intend to pay a visit to the UNESCO representative,” he explained. According to him, if the conditions are favorable, a formal visit to Namobuddha by representatives from UNESCO and other stakeholders will take place in next . Namobuddha is also regarded as a place of pilgrimage, particularly by Buddhists, who come here to pray.

When the ‘prince’ sacrificed his own to give life to ‘Baghini,’ in the previous life of Gautam Buddha, the symbol of peace, he was standing in Namobuddha, which means “place of sacrifice.” In the previous birth, Buddha had given up his life and was reborn in the city of Lumbini. It has been that the mantra ‘Namobuddhay Namah’ was the inspiration for the name ‘Namobuddha.’ According to legend, on the occasion of Kartik Shukla Purnima, a large number of Buddhists used to congregate at the site where the skeletal vehicle of the same prince was created, as well as the site where he sacrificed his life, to worship and light lamps. At the moment, the area is to numerous monasteries, temples, and chaityas of varying sizes. There is also a Buddha Pathshala at the monastery.

Nepal’s Council of Ministers has also decided that the historical, religious, cultural, and archeological city of Kavre, Panauti, will be inscribed on the World Heritage List, as has been done with other sites around the world. Panauti was proposed to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list 25 years ago, and it was eventually accepted. Following the cabinet meeting’s decision, Mayor Bhim Neupane informed the public that the final listing process is awaiting completion.

According to him, “Panauti will be listed by the UNESCO as a result of the decision of the cabinet meeting.” Following the of the process to list Panauti as a World Heritage Site last year, Christian Manhart, the Director-General of UNESCO Nepal, visited the town and observed the touristic, historical, religious, and archeological heritage of Panauti.

During the visit, Manhart stated that the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) was ready to list the temples and of old Nepali origin on the World Heritage List with special interest. “We are awaiting the Cabinet’s decision on whether or not to have the site listed on the World Heritage List,” he said. Mayor Neupane has stated that the process of ministry-wise listing has been completed, but that the final decision will be made by the cabinet meeting.”

UNESCO archaeologists from will once again inspect Panauti, after the decision was made by the Council of Ministers in December last year. The construction of 72 original Nepali in Panauti is currently underway as of the listing process for these properties. The Municipal Office has already conducted training in the areas of artistic woodworking, hosting homestays, and archeological heritage preservation in order to promote the development of cultural tourism.

It will be referred to as the ‘Panauti UNESCO World Heritage Site’ after it has been inscribed on the World Heritage List. UNESCO includes in its list the cultural heritage of a nation that has a unique cultural significance (for example, forests, mountains, lakes, islands, deserts, monuments, buildings, or cities), which is selected by the Union for Conservation of Nature’s World Heritage Committee. The same committee will be in charge of looking after this heritage site under the auspices of UNESCO.

Panauti, a medieval architectural site, had been proposed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO’s Nepal-based body in the year 2052 BS, and the proposal was accepted. Mayor Neupane stated that the work on the listing has been thrown into disarray as a result of the negligence of the parties involved. Panauti’s historic monastery and old artistic-style house are currently being rebuilt by the Department of Archeology, which is funded by the Italian government. In Panauti Municipality-5, 6, and 7, there are more than 100 historical monasteries and Patipauwas (pavilions where locals congregated during cultural events). With the assistance of the French government, the monasteries and pavilions were repaired and renovated between the years 2048 and 2055 BS. It is anticipated that the renovated locations will aid in the promotion of both international and domestic tourism.

According to the Department of Archaeology, four areas of Nepal have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as cultural treasures. Kathmandu Valley (which consists of seven areas: Kathmandu Area, Durbar Area, Bhaktapur Durbar Area, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Temple, Bouddhanath and Changunarayan Temple), Chitwan Park, Lumbini, and Everest Park are among the most tourist attractions in Nepal.

Nepal has submitted 15 historical and tourist sites, including Panauti, to the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). According to some sources, Panauti is the first of these sites to be inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
