Cyprus confirms the first three cases of Omicron.

Cypriot authorities have the first three cases of the Omicron variant in the coastal city of Limassol, according to the country’s ministry of health.

On , the Cyprus of Neurology and Genetics released a statement saying that the Omicron variant had been in three individuals.

All three cases were discovered in people who had recently returned from a trip abroad. According to the ministry, none of the individuals required hospitalization.

Cyprus implemented COVID-19 testing for all over the age of 12 arriving in the country on 2, regardless of whether or not they have a valid certificate, in an effort to prevent the Omicron from spreading throughout the island.

The island is currently experiencing an of infections, with more than 15,000 people infected as of Friday morning. More than 48% of the total has received all of their vaccinations.
