All three cases were discovered in people who had recently returned from a trip abroad. According to the ministry, none of the infected individuals required hospitalization.
Cyprus implemented mandatory COVID-19 testing for all passengers over the age of 12 arriving in the country on December 2, regardless of whether or not they have a valid vaccination certificate, in an effort to prevent the Omicron strain from spreading throughout the island.
The island is currently experiencing an outbreak of infections, with more than 15,000 people infected as of Friday morning. More than 48% of the total population has received all of their vaccinations.
