At least 50 people are feared dead after a tornado strikes the state of Kentucky in the United States, according to the governor.

The governor stated, “We know that we are likely to have more than 50 deaths, if not significantly than that, as a result of this event.”

At least one person was in a tornado that struck an Arkansas , according to authorities, and a roof collapsed at an warehouse in Illinois, trapping employees inside.

According to Bill Bunting, the operations chief at the Storm Prediction Center, which is part of the National Service, at least five states were by unusually powerful storms and on Friday , Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee, according to the New York Times.
