Apple may finally release smartphones with punch hole displays in the near future. It’s only been a few months since Apple unveiled its iPhone 13 series, and now the first details about the iPhone 14 lineup are beginning to emerge as well.
According to the outlet, the Pro models will include punch-hole selfie cameras with a resolution of 48MP next year. It is reported that LG Display LTPO 120Hz OLED panels will be used in the 6.06-inch iPhone 14 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max, and that these will be the only two models to feature the new design.
iPhone 14 non-Pro models, which should include a 6.06-inch model and a new 6.7-inch model, will retain a notch and will have displays supplied by BOE, according to reports. There are no plans for entry-level models to include LTPO screens or refresh rates faster than 120 Hz.
According to the article, BOE will start supplying LTPO panels for the iPhone 15 series in 2023. The company is also expected to release a revised iPhone SE model in 2022 with the same design as the current model but with 5G connectivity as an optional feature.
