A sequel to the film “Shang-Chi” is in the works.

A to the critically acclaimed ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’, which will be in 2021, is in the works.

According to Variety, Destin Daniel Cretton, the writer- of the first film, will return for the installment. His involvement in the will writing the script as well as directing it. As well as a Marvel for Disney Plus, Cretton is developing a series for Netflix.

Sources have told Variety that the Marvel series starring Cretton will be a comedy. Cretton’s Marvel series will premiere on Disney Plus in 2019.

Cretton has signed an overall with Marvel Studios and Hulu’s Onyx Collective, which will allow him to produce television projects as well as the to the Simu Liu film. Cretton previously worked with Marvel Studios on the Simu Liu film.

Cretton collaborated on the writing and direction of the first film in the franchise, which will be released in theaters in September 2021.

According to Box Mojo, the film earned a total of USD 431.9 at the worldwide box office in 2014.

As the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to an Asian and a predominantly Asian cast, the film made history. The film’s cast included actors such as Simu Liu, Michelle Yeoh, Awkwafina, and Tony Leung, as well as actors such as Kingsley, Benedict Wong, Ronny Chieng, and Fala Chen.

The Disney+ streaming has made ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ available for viewing.
